SAM SCHOWENGERDT
Sam is the owner of MMCR and brings 7 years of experience in the coffee industry. Starting his journey at the age of 16, he worked in a variety of coffee shops, where he developed a comprehensive understanding of the craft. His passion for coffee deepened as he explored every aspect of the process, from sourcing beans and perfecting the roast to creating the perfect cup.
GARRETT OLESON
Garrett is a Manager and Roaster at MMCR. A native of Montana, he has always embraced adventure as a core part of his life. His time spent in the great outdoors sparked a deep passion for coffee, whether savoring a cup at a remote mountain lake or enjoying one at the kitchen counter. Garrett finds inspiration and dedication in every aspect of the coffee experience.

THE BREWING JOURNEY
We utilize a fluid-bed roasting process, a unique method that is gaining recognition in the coffee industry for its exceptional results.

Imagine a popcorn popper: kernels are placed inside, and hot air circulates through them, heating them until they pop. A fluid-bed roaster operates on the same principle, but with coffee beans. It keeps the beans in constant motion, flowing in a circular pattern, preventing them from coming into direct contact with the hot surfaces of the machine. This continuous movement avoids the over-heating and burning that can occur with traditional drum roasters, which often lead to a bitter taste. As a result, our coffee maintains a smooth, rich flavor—never bitter. This is why we proudly stand by our slogan:
